What to Do in Specific Emergencies

Ventilator Alarm / Breathing Emergency

1

Stay calm

Do not panic. Check if patient is breathing and alert.

2

Check the ventilator display

Note the alarm type (Low Volume, High Pressure, Disconnection etc.) and read it aloud when you call us.

3

Check all connections

Make sure the breathing circuit tubes are properly connected and not kinked or blocked.

4

Call Prashi Care immediately

+91 73871 24518 — Our nurse will guide you step by step over the phone until our team arrives.

Low Oxygen (SpO2 Below 90%)

1

Reposition the patient

Sit them upright or elevate the head of the bed to 30–45 degrees if safe to do so.

2

Check oxygen supply

Confirm concentrator is on, flow rate is correct, and nasal prongs/mask fit properly.

3

Note the reading every 2 minutes

If SpO2 stays below 90% after 5 minutes, escalate immediately — call 108 and Prashi Care.

Patient Fall

1

Do NOT move the patient immediately

Especially if there is head injury or neck/back pain. Keep them still and calm.

2

Check for consciousness and response

Talk to the patient. Check for visible injuries, bleeding, or deformity.

3

Call Prashi Care

We will assess remotely and dispatch a nurse or advise next steps. Call 108 if there is severe injury or loss of consciousness.
